RE George Appleby’s letter, “Think about it…” (HAS, Jan 18), in which he asked why planes aren’t made of the same stuff as the indestructible black boxes carried on aircraft.

Everybody knows the black box is made of rubber. A plane made of rubber lands with a series of high bounces, which is extremely painful for people with haemorrhoids.

Does this answer Mr Appleby’s question?
