I AGREE with Christopher Wardell on the future of Durham Tees Valley Airport (HAS, Sept 26).
If it cannot attract the airline operators there is little point in keeping it open.
It was not so long ago that we were assured that market research had indicated a change of name would improve the airport’s fortunes.
We live in a highly competitive world . The notion of “the survival of the fittest”
is usually approved of by people until it affects their own livelihoods.
So I appreciate that those who work for the airport will want to keep it open.
On the other hand, the management of Durham Tees Valley airport may have some ideas that they have not yet revealed to us.
