WHILE in Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital recently I read your report about television presenter Selina Scott criticising the cardiothoracic wards (Echo, April 16) over her late father’s treatment.

Since Christmas 2007, I have been in these wards on four occasions. I have found that all the staff, consultants, doctors, nurses and auxiliary staff have a very professional attitude in respect of the patients they are treating.

In my opinion, the care shown is, and was, of the highest standard. I was made to feel an individual, and not just a number. Anyone going to James Cook need not worry. In my opinion, it is the best.
