ROSE Teasdale suggests Hear All Sides doesn’t offer “a diversity of views” (HAS, Jan 1), but then derides regular correspondents for writing about “every conceivable subject under the sun”.

Being a bit inconsistent, isn’t she, as well as exaggerating?

Actually, Ms Teasdale rubbishes en masse regular correspondents without making one valid point, specific criticism or factually responsible (a word I stress) statement.

I find that rather arrogant, as well as sweeping and irrational.

And by the way, how does Ms Teasdale know none of us does voluntary work?

I FEEL I must write to thank Rose Teasdale (HAS, Jan 1) for so adequately reflecting my views on the subject of the hardcore of regular serial contributors to HAS. I was beginning to think: “Is it me?”

Her letter was a real “breath of fresh air” for me. On reading some of the regular contributors’ pieces, I am reminded of a rhyming couplet from An Essay on Criticism by Alexander Pope: “Words are like leaves and where they most abound, much fruit of sense is rarely found.”

Thanks again to Rose Teasdale for raising a much felt want of expression in HAS.

I TOTALLY agree with Rose Teasdale (HAS, Jan 1) about the hardcore of regular contributors to Hear All Sides.

The sooner these sad people get a life the better.

Of course, it’s all a game to them – the object is to see who can get the most letters printed in a year.

And as for Christopher Wardell, the sooner he leaves England the better. Would any sane person run around a park pretending to be chased by an imaginary dog (HAS, Jan 2)?

It’s a good day’s work digging on an allotment he wants if he needs to lose weight.
