RE senior citizen George Appleby's letter about his wife's frustrations in trying to find suitable clothes (HAS, Apr 23).
I am a short, "portly" (waist/hips) 70-year-old lady. I am trying, in vain, to buy straight-legged, full-length, elastic-waisted pull-on trousers, in a light material, preferably polyester/cotton (50/50).
I refuse to wear 100 per cent cotton, which creases and goes baggy, or Lycra, which is flimsy and also creases badly.
I have no clothes that need ironing or dry cleaning. All are minimum machine washable.
I take pride in being clean, comfortable and crease-free. Just bring back more polyester cotton clothes, please.
