AFTER leaving a party at our Durham City Rugby Club yesterday I came across plastic confetti in the car park from a previous day’s wedding.

How on earth can anyone think that plastic confetti is a good idea?

I looked up on the internet and there are vast amounts on sale.

How do these firms get permission to make something that is so polluting to our already polluted planet?

I wonder if these facial scrubs that contain plastic micro beads have been totally banned worldwide yet.

Our seas are vastly polluted by all our plastic waste including every fibre that is washed out of our manmade clothing.

Trillions and trillions of plastic fibres that marine species think is food!

We have to help ourselves here and banning plastic confetti would be a good start.
