I RESEARCH both military and civil aircraft crashes in County Durham, including Teesdale and Weardale, and I am in the process of writing another book.
Can readers remember a wartime aircraft which made a forced landing on Consett Golf Course?
I’m also after information about Sunniside, near Whickham, where there have been three aircraft forced landings – in 1964, a light aircraft came down behind the Blue Parrot pub which is now the Potter’s Wheel; a Tiger Moth biplane crashed off the Pennyfine Road during the war, and another Tiger Moth landed at East Sunniside Farm.
Any information no matter how small in detail please contact me.
