HOW very sad it was to read the story headlined World Cup chaos cost us our jobs (Echo, Aug 4).

Burger restaurant Kerb Edge is the third business to close this year at Darlington’s Feethams development.

The showing of the World Cup on the big screen is partially blamed for the closure.

Unfortunately World Cup screenings were also cancelled at Middlesbrough’s Centre Square due to bad behaviour from some of those watching on the big outdoor screen.

Football is a beautiful game and the majority of fans are fine, however we get a mindless minority who act badly and stop us from having a great day out.

One sincerely hopes Kerb Edge staff can move on to better things, and all our North-East teams do well in the coming season.
