DAME MARGARET HODGE said she will fight “tooth and nail” against disciplinary action by the Labour Party.

Does this very rich, titled dame think that the Labour Party rules should not apply to her, given that she is alleged to have screamed “you are an effing anti-Semite and a racist” at Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn?

The noble Dame Margaret should remember that she is the MP for Barking and Dagenham and is paid over £70,000 per annum to carry out that role.

Given that she is alleged to have shouted in the House of Commons, can I remind readers that she was at work at the time and she should carry out her employment in a courteous and respectful manner.

Furthermore, as she is alleged to have used foul and abusive language as well as unsubstantiated allegations against her boss, then it is only right that she should face a disciplinary investigation.

Note that I used the word investigation and not “action” which Dame Margaret used, because no action has been proposed.

I have undertaken trade union representation work for over 35 years and where an employee is alleged to have been abusive to work colleagues or managers then they usually face disciplinary measures, including dismissal. These rules apply to all public servants and that should include MPs.

The sense of entitlement that wealthy MPs like Dame Margaret Hodge have never ceases to amaze me.
