HELEN Goodman MP says about meeting with a government minister in regards to Whitworth Park School in Spennymoor that: “This is a step in the right direction to protecting our education in Spennymoor.”
I think Helen needs to go to County Hall and have a meeting with her own party councillors that have caused Spennymoor’s education problems by merging the two secondary schools to possibly make land available for more unwanted housing just for the Council Tax revenue those new homes generate!
If our MP wants to really look out for the educational needs of the town, then when she is with the Government minister she must demand a new secondary school be built to accommodate the town’s rapid population growth.
