WE would like to say a big thank you to all our staff who worked throughout last week’s difficult weather conditions, which were certainly the worst we have experienced for many years.
Through the snow, ice and storms our staff pulled out the stops to make sure that wherever possible services continued.
From the gritting teams and mechanics who kept the borough moving, our refuse and recycling teams clearing people’s waste, to social workers and home care staff who ensured that vulnerable people were safe and cared for.
And not forgetting our office-based staff taking telephone calls and updating our website and social media channels, keeping people informed and up-to-date.
These people were the embodiment of public service – effective and proud to serve.
Councillor Bob Cook, leader of Stockton Borough Council & Councillor Maurice Perry, mayor of Stockton
