WE appear to be going from one crisis to another as the Tory Government struggles with the infighting over Brexit.

The NHS is in the spotlight but also in the news are the problems being encountered by dozens of academies.

Apparently many are having to rely on emergency handouts from the Government.

As teacher salaries have been frozen for four years, where has the extra Government money gone?

Many of these schools are controlled by trusts. One has 22 and in 2016/17 a £2.5m deficit, and another five schools with a 2016/7 £1.5m deficit.

I wonder how much the trust executives are paid and would guess it is a lot more than the salaries of local government directors of education.

Could that be where the extra money is going?
