AFTER reading how 16 peers claimed more than £400,000 by doing absolutely nothing apart from turning up (Echo, Oct 30), I am amazed that this can be allowed to continue. Surely legislation can be brought in.
I am retired and receive a works pension which I have to pay tax on to help keep these peers in the luxury they enjoy. All of the political parties are represented so I can’t see any change in the near future – the pigs in the trough will continue.
