I THINK Peter Dolan (HAS, July 12) must have lived in another country when we had 18 years of Tory rule.
He states that under Labour, the pensioner's lot has gone backwards.
Consider the following: heating allowance now £200 for couples and £100 if single - £10 under the Tories; eye tests now free - paid for under the Tories; free television licences for over-75s; free bus passes.
All of these would be taken away by the Tories.
