WITH regard to the National Trust’s position on allowing trail hunting on its land, I feel the trend is that its ruling council will continue to issue licences to hunts, of which there are many.
Members of the trust are voting on a proposal to ban hunting on the trust’s land. We will hear the result at the AGM at the end of this month.
The League Against Cruel Sports has plenty of evidence showing illegal hunting of foxes and stags on trust property.
Hunting disturbs all wildlife, not just the hunted animal.
Members votes must be received by Friday, October 13.
The National Trust has five million members so every vote counts.
