REGARDING Steve Lawson’s letter on Disability Hate (HAS, Sept 27).

What an angry judgemental man, who is so lucky to be classed as ‘disabled’ but still able to walk up the cobbles in Silver Street to the Market Place in Durham.

There are many thousands of us who have worked hard all of our lives who would love to be able to walk up Silver Street, but we are ‘worked out’ and cannot hide behind a disabled label or stick.

And as for judging an elderly lady to be non-arthritic, how dare he, we don’t wear a badge saying I am arthritic and has he no feeling for the person next to him who may be struggling with heart or lung disease or worse.
