I READ the letter about Elvis in The Northern Echo (HAS Aug, 14) by Terry Christie and agree with him but the story that seems to have missed regarding the life of Elvis is if was not for one woman, Elvis may have never been discovered.
Marion Keisker, while working at Sam Phillips studio noticed there was something very different about Elvis with his long sideburns and hair.
She recorded two of his favourite songs with him by the Inkspots that day - My Happiness and When The Heartaches Begin and had the good sense to get his address - this launched his career and he never looked back.
