I READ of Darlington council’s attempts to encourage home owners to cut the grass verges outside their properties (Echo, Aug 4).
As not everyone has petrol-driven mowers, how will individuals be covered when electric leads are across footways and a pedestrian trips over?
Will the cash-strapped council cover the homeowner with public liability insurance, or will the homeowner have to have an insurance of their own?
Or will homeowners be asked to put signage out to make footpath users aware that grass cutting is in progress.
