ON Monday July 31, I watched on television the memorial service to our WW1 dead from the Passchendaele campaign – a very moving service with names of soldiers who died in the battle read out by service men and women.

All the dignitaries, even our Prime Minister, dressed in dark suits but Prince Charles, who wore a white or cream coloured suit, stuck out like a sore thumb.

Surely at an important memorial service he should have dressed for a memorial service? Prince William dressed in black for the event, maybe Charles thought he was going to a party?

And why does Prince Charles wear a chest full of medals which aren’t service medals?
