I DON’T know why David Cameron should waste his time and ours predicting family holidays will cost more the day after the referendum, assuming we have the audacity to vote to become a sovereign independent country once again.

Since the sun will explode, a darkness will cover the land, our first-born children will be struck down and a plague of locusts will blacken the skies, not even Easyjet flights will be able to take off.

AS many get ready for a holiday break it may be a surprise for those planning to go to Europe and, in particular, France that half of the petrol stations currently have no fuel and more are to follow.

None of the major news outlets have mentioned this, which you might find strange as it will affect many whether you are travelling by car or hiring one on arrival. This is a serious situation that will impact heavily on all holidaymakers.

You might ask why on two counts, first why is it happening and why have you not been informed.

The reason for the shortage is all to do with the ongoing demonstrations, and subsequent riots that tend to follow, being conducted across France in response to the wide ranging labour reforms being forced through by the government.

It is currently escalating, with strikes at oil refineries and now at power stations.

Riot police have been on the streets since March 31 and it is getting worse.

As to why you are not being told about this by the media perhaps you need to look at the situation around the referendum debate. These events are serious and widespread and normally you would expect it to lead most news reports, as France is our nearest EU neighbour, and if you are going to or through France it is going to impact on your travel plans.

Are we living in a propaganda-dominated society? That is something you need to consider.
