BBC Sport is going down the pan.

For example, after the BBC Panorama investigative programme into a football bungs scandal, the then Bolton manager, Sam Allardyce, refused to speak to them.

They also dragged Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock on to give his views on an FA Cup match after he showed massive disrespect to the tournament and to his own supporters by fielding an understrength side early in the competition and was beaten 3-0 at home.

What have they got for us in the way of sport this Saturday? You guessed it - thrill-a-minute snooker, from 1pm to 4.30pm on BBC1 and from 4.30pm to 5.25pm and 7pm to 10pm on BBC2. I always thought snooker was a game played by real sportsmen when they were bored.

There was a time when the theme music to BBC Grandstand got you in the mood for an afternoon of soccer, boxing, swimming, cricket, horse racing, etc. Now, it seems snooker is taking over.

When that's finished, no doubt there will be another darts competition. There is only one other boring game the BBC hasn't tried - dominoes. Could it be shuffled on to our screens? I wouldn't put it past them.
