I HAVE to agree with the sentiments expressed by Ralph Musgrave (HAS, June 18) and Tony Kelly (HAS, July 2) about communism.
Not wishing to add to Geoff Bulmer’s discomfort but perhaps he should have a conversation with two lovely gentlemen who next year will have been in the UK for 60 years.
In 1956 they escaped Hungary by the skin of their teeth.
Every time I speak to them I have a pride in being part of the UK. Communists belong to the dark ages and have no place in the present.
Luckily for Mr Bulmer, he lives in the UK and can say what he thinks without having to look over his shoulder.
Edward Roxburgh, Stockton.
