WE MOVED to what we thought was our ideal (and last, being pensioners) home just over two years ago.

Now we are moving back to where we came from totally because of our nightmare neighbour.

He is in his 40s, uses a wheelchair and he thinks the world owes him a living.

He took great pleasure in telling us that he had tormented the old lady and her son, who lived here before us, until her death.

He has carried on his vendetta against us. I would love to know the reason for this as, until now, we seemed to get on with anyone.

But we’ve had stones thrown at windows, the police called at 3am and he even told my 70-year-old husband to “get in” from the garden.

Mediation was worse than useless. We were told it was his way of coping with his disability.

The other people in our mining village are friendly and helpful.

The council said it could not tell us about a problem neighbour prior to us moving in because of the Data Protection Act.

So we have no choice but to put the whole sorry mess down to an expensive mistake. I feel mortally sorry for the next aged tenants.
