SO the truth is out regarding immigration. Far from the myths and lies about immigrants being such a burden, the reality is that immigrants have contributed a massive £20bn to our economy since the late 1990s and immigrants pay far more in taxes than they claim in benefits (Echo, Nov 5).

That doesn’t include the money they help to make by working hard for the benefit of our nation.

Given the fact that many of our most important jobs, especially in areas such as the NHS and carework, are undertaken by immigrants and that we clearly need the tax revenues from immigrants, many of whom are young adults who don’t use public services such as health and education very much, I think we need to be very concerned about the future of the NHS if immigration is severely curtailed.

Without immigration, how will the NHS get enough staff and funding?
