WHAT is the justification for the paltry fine given to Chubby Brown? The legal system at times seems barmy.
A disabled pensioner has a puncture and, with the help of the public, manages to get his car in a safe place to change the wheel.
However, because it is partly on the pavement, he is fined £110.
Chubby drives his car on a busy road, while reading a newspaper, and is fined £30. Having suffered the consequences of a driver reading texts whilst driving – the loss of a wonderful son and daughter-in-law – we find the £30 fine an insult.
When will the legal system in this country get its act together?
Ian Jamieson.
SO, CHUBBY Brown was caught reading while driving. It does seem odd that a millionaire was fined £30 when the rest of us are fined hundreds for the same offence.
