VERY sad to hear Ron’s Music shop in Blackwellgate, Darlington, is to close (Echo, May 14). It was where I bought my first guitar and where I get all my music equipment repaired. His shop even helped me to find new band members.
Internet shopping has not helped local business like Ron’s but neither have the ruthless Darlington traffic wardens who patrol the area awaiting unsuspecting musicians trying to load heavy amplifiers into their cars.
Going to Ron’s was always a nice experience. You could play the instruments and gain good advice.
Ron’s Music you will be missed.
