EVEN though Ukip’s Nigel Farage more than held his own in last Thursday’s Question Time on BBC1, it was surely disgraceful of the BBC to have very well known, strong pro-Europeans filling the rest of the panel.
Is this what the BBC calls balanced broadcasting?
This biased panel make-up has become more and more typical of both the BBC’s Question Time and Any Questions programmes, both of which I have watched and listened to for more years than I care to remember. I am not surprised that audience research indicates these once excellent debates are losing their popularity.

MY vote in the next election will be going to Ukip in the hope that, if elected, their first objective will be to take the UK out of the expensive sham that is the Eurovision Song Contest. I don’t think this year’s winner, Conchita the bearded lady from Austria, will be filling the Metro Arena in the near future. In fact, I would be surprised if he/she got a five-minute spot at Funny Girls in Blackpool.
