IN answer to Adam Walker (HAS, Apr 12), I am sure that there is not one political party member who agrees with all of the policies of any party, whether it be Labour, Tory or any of the smaller parties.

I did take up my views, on immigration, with Nick Clegg, years ago when he was the Lib Dem Shadow Home Secretary.

Apart from the “bedroom tax”, the Lib Dems have delivered a £10,000 income tax threshold, rising to £10,500 next year.

The headline on the business page “Economic growth fastest in the world” (Echo, Apr 9), did not refer to Germany, Japan or the US but rather the UK. The next page said that UK manufacturing growth was the fastest for three years and reported that Mr Clegg had been in the region allocating monies to encourage further growth. For this the Lib Dems deserve some praise.

Can Mr Walker remember the state of the UK economy under Labour? Much higher immigration and banks crashing and being bailed out by the taxpayer?

In the May 2014 EU Elections, I will vote for the Lib Dem candidates. Their number one candidate, Angelika Schneider, visited the run down Festival Walk shopping mall in Spennymoor to support my campaign.

Ben Ord, Spennymoor.
