MOTHERS can enjoy a day of pampering and cupcakes on a heritage railway this weekend.
The Weardale Railway, in County Durham, will run special services on Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day.
Children on board the train, dubbed the Cupcake Express, between Bishop Auckland and Stanhope, can decorate cupcakes for their mothers, who will receive a glass of sparkling wine.
Tickets cost £13 for adults, £6 for children under 12, and under-fives travel free.
For £17 for adults and £8 for children, passengers can also enjoy an afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes.
Trains leave Stanhope at 1.15pm and Bishop Auckland 2.45pm.
Tickets need to be booked on 01388-526203, or go to weardale-railway.com
