HORTICULTURAL enthusiasts travelled far and wide to visit one Teesdale village's open garden event at the weekend.
Staindrop Open Gardens day had 12 hidden gems on offer during the fundraiser on Sunday.
And visitors flocked from Teesside, Harrogate and Chester-le-Street to join those from the surrounding community to enjoy the day in aid of the village's St Mary's Church.
Organiser, Ed Chicken, said their 400 tickets sold out quickly and visitors were asked to share their maps as the event was so popular.
The grand total raised for the church was £3,793.
Cllr Chicken said: "Huge thanks go to the visitors who were so complimentary about our wonderful village, to the dedicated band of people who set up stalls, prepared and served teas, and opened their gardens."
