FANS of theatre organ music can look forward to an entertaining series of concerts this year.
The North East Theatre Organ Association’s 2017 season begins next month, when the international organist Simon Gledhill will perform on the Mighty Wurlitzer on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday March 12.
Other big names expected at the New Victoria Centre in Howden-le-Wear are: Robert Wolfe, John Mann, Jean Martin, Scott Harrison, Damon Willetts, Andrew Nix, Chiho Sunamoto and John Smith. Special events to look out for are the annual fete on May 27, an open day on September 9, a cream tea concert on April 30 and the Mighty Wurlitzer Awards Night on November 16.
