A TEENAGER is hoping to impress talent show judges as she seeks to reach the national final of the competition.
Olivia Irvin, 14, of Spennymoor, is hoping to win through her regional final in the TeenStar contest.
The pupil at Whitworth Park School and Sixth Form, Spennymoor, will take on entrants from across the North-East and Yorkshire.
The youngster is to sing a Demi Lovato song 'Warrior' at Huddersfield Town Hall, West Yorkshire, in front of the regional final judges.
Her mother, Susan Irvin, said: “She is taking the competition one step at a time.
“She has been singing for a long time and last year she reached the regional final stage. Her singing voice has improved and she is more confident now.
“Hopefully she will manage to go that step further this year.
“If she’s lucky enough to get through then she has another couple of months to get ready for the national finals and there are talent scouts there.”
Olivia, has singing lessons at Studio 10, the home of The Joanne Banks Dancers, in Spennymoor, and also Vocal Ovation, in Stocksfield, Northumberland.
She is entered in the 13 to 15-year-old age section of the regional final which is on Sunday, May 25.
