A CYCLIST broke his spine after a collision with a car in Middlesbrough. Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision involving a Ford Focus, on Borough Road at the junction of Linthorpe Road at about 8.40am on Friday, February 27. The 43-year-old man was taken to James Cook University Hospital suffering from concussion and a fracture to his spine and is still in hospital in a "comfortable" condition. Any witnesses are asked to contact PC Tina Lackenby from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist operations unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting reference number 32681.
