THERESA May and Jeremy Corbyn are to appear in a special Question Time debate from York.
The Conservative and Labour leaders will appear in a live broadcast from the city on June 2, just days before the General Election.
They will be answering questions from the public on the Question Time special with David Dimbleby on BBC One in the live television debate.
The venue of the show has not yet been confirmed.
Both leaders have attracted criticism for refusing to take part in a live leader's debate ahead of the election.
Neither Theresa May or Jeremy Corbyn are due to attend ITV’s debate on May 18, which will see politicians from all seven of the main parties take to the podium.
