FOLLOWING the 2014 Local Heroes awards The Northern Echo salutes the region's grassroots sporting heroes in tomorrow's edition.
The 15th annual awards ceremony took place at Darlington's Dolphin Centre earlier this week and saw Karl Wharton honoured for his tireless support of young gymnasts.
Tomorrow's paper includes a 12-page special awards supplement celebrating all that's great about grass roots sport. Pick up a copy from your local newsagent.
