CAMPAIGNERS against an elected mayor have unveiled their latest message.
The Say No to an Elected Mayor group also quizzed shoppers in Darlington town centre on their views yesterday.
The billboards show a fat cat and a cartoon of H'Angus, the Hartlepool Monkey - football mascot dressed as the monkey ran for mayor in the town and won.
The slogan on the billboard reads: "It's not funny, when it's your money."
Nick Wallis, one of the campaigners, said: "We're focusing on how much an elected mayor will cost Darlington.
