A NINE-year-old girl has died suddenly at a property on an executive housing estate.
Police and other emergency services were called to the housing estate at Wynyard, near Billingham, on Wednesday evening shortly before 8pm following the sudden death of the girl.
Her death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem is due to take place next week.
A spokesperson for Cleveland Police said: “Police attended the sudden death of a nine-year-old girl at an address in the Wynyard area at around 7.50pm yesterday evening, Wednesday, March 28.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem is due to take place early next week.
“Our thoughts are with the young girl's family and friends at this difficult time.”
