A CONCERT is being held as part of a national initiative to help disadvantaged young people engage with music.

The Give a Gig event, called A Celebration of Male Voices, will feature performances from Stockton Synthonia Male Voice Choir, Teesside Apollo Male Voice Choir, Northern Acchord – Barbershop Harmony Chorus, Singing Sue’s “Boyz” Choir and soloist Ben Noble.

The concert is part of Youth Music’s Give a Gig Week, which will see 100 gigs taking place nationwide to raise funds to help disadvantaged young people get involved with music.

It will be held in the Theatre Suite, Synthonia Club, Belasis Avenue, Billingham, on Saturday, March 24 at 6pm.

Tickets are £5, available at the door or from choir members.

A spokesperson for Stockton Synthonia Male Voice Choir said: “We are a registered charity aiming to encourage the appreciation of music and gladly support school choirs and aspiring singers in the area.”
