THE boss of a charity has hit out at thieves who stole hundreds of pounds last week.
Cleveland Police are appealing for information after the Daisy Chain day centre on Calf Fallow Lane in Norton, Stockton was burgled just before 11pm on Thursday, December 14.
Around £200 was stolen from the premises and it is believed the people responsible made off on foot.
Stuart Dexter, chief executive of Daisy Chain, said: “It is extremely disheartening that thieves would target a family charity like Daisy Chain and steal cash that all our fundraisers, families, volunteers and staff work so hard to raise.
"All the money we raise goes into supporting families affected by autism across Tees Valley and to ensure that Daisy Chain can continue to offer a safe, peaceful haven for families to visit.”
Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the people responsible are asked to contact Police Staff Investigator Ricky Parkinson on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
