A 66-YEAR-old man has been arrested after a pedestrian was seriously injured as he walked along the A19.
A 30-year-old man sustained serious leg injuries and a broken pelvis in the incident and he remains in a stable condition in Middlesbrough’s James Cook University Hospital.
The driver of a blue Audi A6 was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving after the crash at around 11pm on Saturday, June 24, close to the A19’s junction with the A1027 at Norton, near Stockton.
The 66-year-old has since been released from Cleveland Police custody while officers continue to investigate the incident.
The force are now appealing for witnesses who may have seen two men walking along the A19 on Saturday night or who saw the crash.
