A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect after a one-year-old girl was found on her own near a busy main road.
The child was found in a street near Oxbridge Lane Primary School, off Oxbridge Lane, Stockton, on Tuesday morning.
The one-year-old was taken into the care of Cleveland Police officers who then issued an appeal for more information on the incident.
A woman was then arrested on suspicion of child neglect.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “A one-year-old child was located in the street near to Marlborough Road in Stockton and following an initial investigation a woman has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect.”
The incident is not connected to the primary school.
