PEOPLE are being invited to take part in a riverside ramble and explore the areas natural and social heritage.
The River Tees Rediscovered Landscape Partnership aims to develop the river and its surrounding area through conservation and community activities, reconnecting the people of the Tees with the river.
A series of guided walks has been devised to introduce people to the network of paths and tracks that communities have used over the centuries.
The walk, from the Tees Barrage to Newport Bridge and back, has been organised for Tuesday, February 21, starting at 9.30am from outside the south tower of the barrage, off Navigation Way.
Chris Corbett, River Tees Rediscovered Community and Access Officer, said: “We will be looking at the profound influence that people have had on this stretch of the river and the way in which nature has made a spectacular comeback”
Places are limited and booking is essential on 01642-616144 or email christine.corbett@groundwork.org.uk
