VULNERABLE people in Stockton will be able to enjoy a festive treat after a refuge joined forces with Yorkshire Building Society.

The branch, on 31 High Street, has become an official drop-off point for the Stockton Refuge of Harbour Support Services, while staff are collecting gift sets, toys and presents for the women and children who will be using their services over Christmas.

Harbour provides help and practical assistance to people affected by an abusive relationship, which includes information about what support and options are available.

Camilla May, manager for the Stockton branch, said: “Harbour is the main provider of services for those living with domestic abuse in Stockton. As we approach Christmas we wanted to be able to offer something nice for the people who find themselves using Harbour’s services.”

The branch is open for donations Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, Wednesday 9.30am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to noon. The collection will run until December 5.

Harbour works with families across the region.
