AN 80-YEAR-OLD woman was robbed as she sat at a bus stop in Eaglescliffe, Stockton on Saturday (May 28).
The victim was in the bus stop near the Sunnyside Hotel on Yarm Road when a man on a bicycle approached her, asked her for the time and then snatched her handbag before cycling off towards Yarm.
The handbag contained cash and the victim’s bank card. Police said the elderly victim was shaken, but otherwise uninjured.
It is believed the suspect is aged in his 30s, of average build and medium height with stubble and short, dark hair. He was wearing smart, dark clothing.
