A 21-year-old woman was robbed whilst walking with her two female friends as they left Thornaby train station yesterday (Wednesday, November 25).

She was targeted as the three of them headed over the footbridge towards Mandale Road at around 4.35pm when a man snatched the victim’s handbag as she walked across the bridge. The suspect then headed off towards the Mandale Estate in Thornaby.

The handbag contained the victim’s gold IPhone 5S which has a black cover, as well as her purse.

Cleveland Police said the suspect is described as white, of skinny build and around 23-years-old. He was wearing a grey hooded top with three blue stripes on the arms.
