POLICE have named a motorcyclist and his pillion passenger who died in a road accident at the weekend.
Gary Robert Hoare, 47, and Gayle Evans, 51, both from Billingham, died following an accident on Saturday (July 18) on the B1264 not far from Low Worsall, near Yarm.
They had been travelling on a blue and white Suzuki motorbike from Yarm towards Great Smeaton in North Yorkshire when they were involved in a collision with a blue Ford Focus travelling in the opposite direction.
Inquests into their deaths were opened and adjourned on Wednesday (July 22).
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 37-year-old from Middlesbrough, suffered minor injuries at the collision and was treated at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, before being discharged.
