A CARE home is appealing to the local community for the loan of a piano so they can bring music to the ears of elderly residents.

Ingleby Care Home, situated in Ingleby Barwick, welcomed talented young duo Jeremy Chen, aged nine, and older brother James, 11, for a violin concert on Christmas Eve which was so popular with residents that they are now hoping the boys can return this year to play the piano.

Christine Wilson, activities co-ordinator, said: “The boys played beautifully on their violins but we know that that their true talent lies in the piano, and that they would really like to return to the home to play to the residents.

“Unfortunately, we do not have a piano at the home and so we are now appealing to any individuals or community groups who may be able to lend us the instrument. The residents would love to hear the boys play and we hope that this can be made possible.”
