MOTORCYCLISTS gave up their Easter weekend to raise money for charity before getting on their bikes to take Easter eggs to dementia sufferers.
The Boundary 500 Motorcycle Group donned fancy dress to raise about £1,000 for charity at Thornaby Pavilion shopping centre on Saturday, April 19.
And on Sunday about 30 of the motorcyclists delivered 700 Easter eggs to elderly people at 13 residential homes across Teesside.
Usually the group, formed by retired police officer Brian Laverick in 2006, raise money for the Great North Air Ambulance and Zoe’s Baby Hospice.
But the group is also committed to raising awareness of dementia sufferers decided to raise money for dementia charities with a bucket collection.
Mr Laverick said: “Our Sunday ride went really, really well. The smiles on the residents’ faces when we gave them the Easter eggs was priceless.”
