A SEASIDE town will be rocking with music and laughter this July.

The three-day Redcar Rocks Festival, in Mackinlay Park, Redcar, will feature more than 100 performers on five stages from July 13 to 15.

Day tickets and weekend tickets are available, giving festivalgoers the opportunity to stay for the day or camp. Three music stages will include performances from Little Comets, The Watchers and Cattle and Cane.

A comedy tent will feature Show Me the Funny winner Patrick Monahan and other comedians. There will also be a theatre tent, silent disco, funfair and street performers.

David Whyte, one of the organisers, said: “Redcar has a real musical heritage with the Jazz Club and the Bowl having showcased so many great bands in the past, and we want to continue that tradition.

We are the only festival of this kind in the North-East that has proper festival camping so people can really get into the festival spirit.”

Weekend tickets are from £20 for adults and £7 for children. Day tickets are from £3 to £16, from redcar rocks.com with discounts for the first 500 sales.
