A MAN is in hospital being treated for suspected stab wounds after he was attacked in the early hours of this morning.

Emergency services were called after a 44-year-old man was seriously hurt during an attack in the Faraday Street area of Middlesbrough.

The victim is currently at James Cook University Hospital receiving treatment for his injuries.

Five men and one woman have been arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with the incident and they all currently remain in custody.

Anybody who may have witnessed the incident or has information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Matthew Waterfield from the Cleveland Police Operational Crime Team on 101.
